Investing time and effort into your employees with help to garner commitment to you as a leader and the vision overall. This can be done through positive reinforcement efforts; you may offer additional benefits for employees who exceed goals. Sometimes, leaders tend to believe that their clothing can project them as a leader; however, in reality, these persons are likely experiencing greater confidence. This practice is most frequently observed by politicians that have many persons behind the scenes that curate their image. A leader is unwavering; he/ she does not crumble in the moment. Think of it this way, your greatness is simply one idea away. As a leader, you should speak frankly; you want to be a straight-shooter. Have a strong moral compass, and operate with honesty and integrity. Be charismatic; your charm and ability to engage others can brighten any room. Conversely, there are persons that will seek and destroy success; in addition, they can undermine ones leadership. Leaders need to create an environment that harbors growth and potential. Do not tolerate persons or things that may deride your efforts. Lolly Daskal instructs that leaders should not allow specific actions, including: inertia, poor communication, mediocrity, ambivalence, toxic relationships, dishonesty, disrespect, fear, negativity, and lack of integrity.
